About the artist

GAARI.ART is the work of artist Garwin Gaari (1986). Born on Curaçao and raised in the Netherlands, Garwin’s background plays an important role in how he sees and creates. Different cultures, environments and experiences come together in his work. His journey of creative self-expression led him to study at three art academies in the Netherlands, including the Willem de Kooning Academy in Rotterdam.

Gaari’s art is a reflection of his vision of freedom - freedom from restrictive systems and freedom of the mind. There is no fixed plan before starting a piece. The process develops step by step, guided by what feels right in the moment. Brush strokes, structure and color are used freely - not to stay within lines, but to create movement and character in each piece.This way of working creates layered pieces. In color, texture and expression. Each artwork builds over time and often shifts direction during the process. Gaari mainly works with acrylic paint.
